Poetry and Voice

This collection of essays evolved from the Poetry and Voice conference I convened at the University of Chichester with the help of Dr. Ellie Piddington. The conference combined critical and creative approaches through a mix of lectures, readings and performances. Carol Ann Duffy, the poet laureate, opened the conference with a guest reading. The book of essays, with a foreword by Helen Dunmore, explores creative processes in forming voices and includes academic and critical explorations of voice in poetry. The book is an unusual mixture as was the conference in 2010.
